Phonak Hearing Aids

Based in Switzerland, Phonak was founded in 1947 with the mission to reconnect people to their loved ones and their passions in life with state of the art hearing technology. Committed to raising awareness about hearing loss and dismantling taboos around it, Phonak has vowed to continue their work until “wearing a hearing aid is as simple and routine as eyeglasses or contact lenses.”

As an international hearing aid manufacturer, Phonak takes in feedback from hearing aid wearers and hearing professionals across the world, using this knowledge to inspire their next models of hearing aids. Phonak has introduced a number of new hearing technologies over the years: AudioZoom multi-microphone and Smart Link, wireless streaming with Bluetooth.

Venture Platform

Venture Platform is a new processing system from Phonak. The digital chip that powers Venture works twice as quickly as older models, while reducing battery consumption. Venture gives Phonak hearing aids three new automated programs: Speech in Car, which creates a stable listening environment inside a vehicle; Comfort in Echo, which manages reverberation and distortion; and Music, which gives wearers a fuller music listening experience. Venture’s Speech in Loud Noise feature improves speech intelligibility up to 60%.

Phonak Hearing Aids

Phonak hearing aids are powered by the Venture Processing Platform and are designed to treat mild to profound degrees of hearing loss. Phonak hearing aids are available in a variety of styles: in-the-ear (ITE), receiver-in-canal (RIC), and behind-the-ear (BTE). ITE models include Virto V, Lyric, Tao Q, Virto Q, and Dalia. RIC models include Audeo V, Audeo Q, Naida, Q-RIC, and Sky Q RIC. BTE models include: Bolero V, Sky Q, Bolero Q, Naida Q, Baseo Q, Dalia, and Milo Plus.

The Naida hearing aid from Phonak is a super-powered hearing aid, designed to address higher degrees of hearing loss (severe to profound). In 2016, Phonak introduced an updated Naida Q model, with features to improve sound clarity and speech recognition.

Lyric – a 24/7 Hearing Aid

The Lyric hearing aid is the world’s first 24/7 hearing aid, meaning it does not need to be removed as traditional hearing aids do. Designed to last several months on a single battery, the Lyric is an invisible hearing aid that is inserted deep in the ear canal by a hearing specialist. Lyric hearing aid wearers need not worry about the device once it has been inserted. It may be worn throughout the day and night, in activities and settings that traditional hearing aids would not withstand, such as showering or exercising. Lyric works with the ear’s natural anatomy, receiving sound from the outer ear and amplified near the eardrum.

Lyric provides a comfortable and seamless listening experience. Features of the Lyric help to improve directionality and localization of sound, reduction of feedback, clarity of sound against background noise, and improved abilities with high frequency sound. Once the Lyric battery has run out, simply return to your hearing specialist to remove your old pair and have new ones inserted.

Sky Q hearing aids also include advanced features for better speech understanding and listening comfort, such as the Binaural VoiceStream Technology and DuoPhone, which is used for phone calls. This line of hearing aids also connects to the Phonak Roger wireless microphone system which directly feeds sounds in challenging situations to the wearer’s hearing aid – useful for kids in busy classrooms.
